The Bespoke Journey

Created with you, especially for you

Commissioning a bespoke piece of jewellery should feel exciting, personal and completely manageable.

You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want. Some clients come to me with a very clear idea, while others have only a feeling, an occasion, an inherited stone or a collection of inspiration images. My role is to listen, understand your style and guide you through each decision.

We can work together in person or entirely remotely, allowing me to look after clients in New Zealand and around the world.

The Six Bespoke Chapters

01 CONCEPTION — 06 DELIVERY

01

Our first conversation

We begin with a relaxed consultation to talk about what you would like to create.

I will ask about the person who will wear the piece, how it should feel, when and how it will be worn, and what matters most to you. We may discuss existing jewellery, favourite shapes, metals, colours, sentimental details and your preferred budget.

You are welcome to bring photographs, sketches or examples of jewellery you love — but it is equally fine to come with no fixed idea at all.

02

Exploring the design

From our conversation, I begin developing the direction of the piece.

We consider proportion, comfort, practicality and how the jewellery will work with pieces you already own. I may draw inspiration from one of my existing designs, adapt a familiar style or create something entirely new.

Every detail is considered carefully. The aim is not simply to create something beautiful, but something that feels natural and effortless for you to wear.

03

Sourcing the right stone

When a design requires a diamond or gemstone, I work closely with my business partner, Cedric Barsamian, a trusted third-generation diamond dealer based in Hong Kong.

Through his international network, we are able to source exceptional diamonds and gemstones from established suppliers around the world.

I will present carefully selected options suited to your design and budget, explaining the differences clearly so you can make an informed and confident decision. The right stone is not always the largest or the most expensive — it is the one with the beauty, character and proportions that bring the whole design together.

04

Visualising your piece

Once the design direction and stones have been selected, the piece is developed in greater detail.

Depending on the project, this may include sketches, technical drawings or a realistic CAD rendering so you can understand the proportions and appearance before production begins.

We refine the design together, and nothing moves into production until you are comfortable and have approved the final direction.

05

Handmade by specialist craftspeople

Your piece is designed in New Zealand and handmade in Hong Kong.

I work primarily with three exceptional workshops, each selected for its own specialist expertise. Depending on the design, I choose the team best suited to the setting, construction and level of detail required.

The jewellery is carefully formed, set, polished and finished by highly skilled craftspeople. I oversee the process closely and remain involved throughout production to ensure the finished piece reflects the approved design and my standards.

06

The final reveal

Before your jewellery is delivered, every detail is carefully checked, from the security of the setting and the finish of the metal to the comfort and balance of the piece.

Your jewellery can then be collected in New Zealand or delivered securely, depending on your location.

I will also explain how to care for it and remain available for future cleaning, maintenance, adjustments or additions.

A Relationship That Continues

“For many clients, one bespoke piece is only the beginning. Over time, we may add a complementary wedding band, redesign an inherited jewel, create a new talisman to sit alongside an existing ring, or subtly update a setting as personal tastes mature.”

Think of me as your dedicated private jewellery designer — someone who understands the personality of your vault, the contours of your hands, and how to preserve sentiment across generations.
